Selected Projects

  • SemProM: Project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research. SemProM (Semantic Product Memories) has the goal to improve information consistency and re-use in open-loop applications throughout a product's whole live cycle. This is achieved by conceptually and physically associating semantically rich information with real world objects.
  • SHAREDLIFE: Project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research. The project is about sharing of artificial augmented memories. Thus users can learn and benefit from the experiences of other users.
  • SPECTER: Project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research. The project is about building a personal journal by keeping track of a user's real world actions and affective states. Together with a user model learned from the journal a personal agent could offer context-appropriate support or execute actions on behalf of the user.
  • FLUIDUM: The FLUIDUM (FLexible User Interfaces for Distributed Ubiquitous Machinery) project researches on interaction metaphors that apply to ubiquitous computing scenarios on different scales. The project is funded by the German Science Foundation.
  • REAL: Investigates intelligent systems that adapt to the limited hardware resources on (mobile) computer systems on the one hand and to the cognitive resources of the user on the other hand. In- and outdoor navigation systems and a smart shopping assistant were some of the applications developed and integrated within this project.
